Interview with our ADORABLE bride, Ashley:
HOW DID YOU MEET? Bryan was good friends with my brother and he thought that I was cute and he asked me out on a date and it was the best first date I had ever been on!
WHAT ATTRACTED YOU THE MOST TO YOUR HUSBAND? Well his good looks of course! But I loved how much we had in common and how smart he is and how much fun we had every single time we hung out and almost 5 years later, we still have just as much fun! It doesn’t matter what we are doing!
HOW DID HE PROPOSE? The proposal—we were in South Carolina hiking on a trail to a waterfall that you could walk behind….he proposed to me behind the waterfall which was amazing!
WHAT INSPIRED YOUR VISION FOR YOUR WEDDING? I am a very simple girl and I love the outdoors! I also love country music and more rustic things! I knew I wanted to get married outside so I went with that and I believe it carried through to the reception as well.
TELL US ABOUT FINDING YOUR VENUE: We went to several places looking for the perfect place and we fell in love with Leu Gardens and Dubsdread.
WHAT WAS YOUR BIGGEST PLANNING CHALLENGE? Making decisions…what color should the bridesmaids dresses be? What color should the table cloths be, what favors should we give out, what gifts to buy our friends…. All of those little decisions drove me crazy!! The last month was a piece of cake because I am great at putting things together! Just not so great at making decisions, I second guess everything!
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE DESIGN ELEMENT OF YOUR WEDDING? I absolutely loved the rustic sticks at the ceremony near where Bryan and I stood. I also loved the mason jars with the flowers and the jute/hemp wrapped around the flower bouquets.
DID YOU HAVE ANY DIY DETAILS? I decorated all of the mason jars myself and I created the tags and tied all of the jute on to them! My mom and I also made the necklaces that I gave to my bridesmaids! We designed and printed the wedding programs as well as the menu cards.
WHAT WAS THE MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT OF YOUR WEDDING DAY? The most memorable moment of my day was walking down the aisle and being so nervous, but once Bryan held my hands the nerves just went away and I was able to be myself!
DESCRIBE YOUR CAKE: Our cake was a 4 tiered cake with white fondant, simple lines and flowers cake topper! It was delicious! Each layer had a different flavor and they were all wonderful!
HOW WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER? We absolutely loved our photographers! They were amazing. They were so energetic and were able to make even the smallest child look their way to take the most amazing photos! They made us laugh the entire time during our individual photos and they really had an eye for what would make a beautiful photo! They worked so well together and I am so happy that we chose them as our photographers! They are truly an amazing team and they really go out of their way to make your day special!
WHAT’S NEXT FOR YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND AS A COUPLE? We are planning on going on a honeymoon to Hawaii and then after that we will just relax and enjoy one another and all of our amazing family and friends who live close by!
