Interview with our ADORABLE bride, Casey:
HOW DID YOU MEET? We met our freshman year of college through mutual friends in our dorm building.
WHAT ATTRACTED YOU THE MOST TO YOUR WIFE? His wit and sense of humor.
HOW DID HE PROPOSE? On a night we had plans to drive around and look at Christmas lights, he hung the ring from our Christmas tree and then called me over to admire all of the ornaments and pulled the ring off the tree. After a beautiful proposal he asked if I still wanted to go look at lights as we’d planned and led me outside where he had a limo (stocked with hot chocolate) waiting to drive us around to look at lights.
WHAT INSPIRED YOUR VISION FOR YOUR WEDDING? Even though we live in Atlanta now, we are both from Florida originally and miss the water dearly. We knew we wanted to be near the water and have a coastal feel, but wanted to steer away from anything too tropical.
TELL US ABOUT FINDING YOUR VENUE: We spent a long weekend in Florida driving around to venues on the Space Coast and in Orlando. I loved that Eau Gallie Yacht Club was on the water and immediately fell in love with the views from the big windows in the main dining room.
WHAT WAS YOUR BIGGEST PLANNING CHALLENGE? Planning from out of town was challenging, but my mom and our coordinator, Karry Castillo made it so much easier! They helped square away all of the local details.
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE DESIGN ELEMENT OF YOUR WEDDING? Picking just one is so hard, but I probably have to choose the florals. After my very first meeting with our florist, Debra Shea Robertson of Atmospheres I knew she “got” exactly what I was wanting and she made it a reality! Every detail from the bouquets, to centerpieces, to the boutineers and the flowers for the cake was absolute perfection!
DID YOU HAVE ANY DIY DETAILS? My mom designed, printed, and assembled the escort cards and table numbers, and my aunt and cousins designed and created a beautiful card box for us. It was really special to have their personal touches on these hand-made details!
WHAT WAS THE MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT OF YOUR WEDDING DAY? Just one?! It was so much fun to get to celebrate our love for each other with all of our closest loved ones, but for the most incredible moment was when the sun peeked through the clouds during our (very windy!) ceremony just in time for us to read our vows. It was perfect timing!
DESCRIBE YOUR CAKE: Our cake was incredible! Jennifer did a fantastic job melding the design elements of all the different “pins” I showed her into one gorgeous cake. It had beautiful, intricate white- on-white piping designs with florals cascading down all four tiers.
HOW WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER? I cannot rave about Sara and Jason enough! When we were first looking to book photographers I was anxious about finding someone with whom I felt comfortable so I wouldn’t have what Ben calls my “painful, fake smile” in all of the photos. We felt so comfortable with them and genuinely had fun with them. Working with them has been an all around fantastic experience!
WHAT’S NEXT FOR YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND AS A COUPLE? Right now we are just enjoying married life together and looking forward to honeymooning in Italy this summer.

Interview with our BEAUTIFUL bride, Lauren:
HOW DID YOU MEET? We met working together at a restaurant in Melbourne called Chowders when we were in high school.
WHAT ATTRACTED YOU THE MOST TO YOUR HUSBAND/WIFE? I think we would both agree our opposite personalities! We are so different but it’s like we have such an admiration for each other because of it, and the differences end up complimenting each other so well. We keep each other at the perfect level!
HOW DID HE PROPOSE? He proposed at our home on December 4th! He came home from work and I was making dinner and he came into the kitchen & got on his knee! It was a very surprised moment! Came to find out after, he had just come from my parent’s house talking with them, and the ring had been hiding in my stocking for almost 2 weeks! I had decorated early because of going away for Thanksgiving that year!
WHAT INSPIRED YOUR VISION FOR YOUR WEDDING? My favorite color has always been purple. I knew I definitely wanted to go off of that. I knew I wanted the “princess” wedding but I really wanted a simple yet very elegant look with it.
TELL US ABOUT FINDING YOUR VENUE: We had an amazing Wedding planner that suggested Heritage Isle to us. It was the first and only place we looked! It couldn’t have been better for us! It was the perfection location!
WHAT WAS YOUR BIGGEST PLANNING CHALLENGE? I don’t think we really had too big of one. We were really fortunate with our Wedding planner and amazing vendors. Everything went very smoothly. We had a bit of a time finding a venue for our rehearsal dinner because of it being on Valentine’s Day but even that ended up working out just fine!
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE DESIGN ELEMENT OF YOUR WEDDING? I don’t think I could pick just one! It was all so amazing and so much fun! From the first day of planning all the way to the end of our honeymoon! It was all a blast!
DID YOU HAVE ANY DIY DETAILS? We had a few. A lot of our “Sweets Table” items we did ourselves including the decorating of the jars. My dad did a lot of spray painting of things for that table! I made bathroom baskets & signs. My brother designed our programs, table cards, & thank you cards, and we printed most of them. My mom made the flower girl baskets. We put together Welcome bags for all of our out of town guests. An as gifts at our rehearsal dinner my mom and I etched wine & beer glasses.
WHAT WAS THE MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT OF YOUR WEDDING DAY? The whole thing! When we first saw each other when I started walking down, I remember just thinking how happy I was that it was all here and happening! It was an amazing day and we truly had the best time of our life!
DESCRIBE YOUR CAKE: It was beautiful! Dawn at Creative Cakes is just so incredible! I think she knew more then I even did of what exactly I wanted! It had purple ribbon around each layer, there were 3 layers. Then a purple bow that went down the back. It had a beautiful sparkling design on it and flowers with a D on top. It was perfect, it went with the whole princess vision I had, so well!
HOW WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER? AMAZING! What a fun, talented, great couple! We could not have been luckier! Our family loved them just as much as us! The day after our wedding I had family members coming and telling me how wonderful they thought our photographers were, they could tell they were capturing so many great moments through out the whole evening!
WHAT’S NEXT FOR YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND AS A COUPLE? We have plans to buy our first home this summer! An to ENJOY every bit of this new chapter of our lives!
