What a cool family! We met up with these cuties near Loch Haven Park, and then explored the allies behind the downtown Orlando antiques district for cool spots and great light. Thanks you guys for being so amazing to work with 🙂

Interview with the wonderful Heather + Jonathan:
How did you meet? – It was love at first sight! We met within a week of Heather moving to Orlando. We made eye contact one night when we were both out with some friends, chatted, exchanged numbers, and went on a running date 4 days later. AKA we met at a bar.
What attracted you the most to your husband/wife?
Heather – I loved his outdoorsy lifestyle and his handsome smile
Jonathan – I loved her playful side, her laugh, and how we became each other’s best friend.
How did he propose? Back in his hometown of Sarasota while watching the sunset on the beach (the same place they went the first time he brought Heather home to meet his parents). Then he surprised her by having their families waiting for them at their favorite restaurant for dinner.
What inspired your vision for your wedding? Our love for the outdoors.
Tell us about finding your venue: This was one of the hardest parts for us! We looked at several venues in Orlando and Sarasota. Everything we loved was way out of our price range. We started looking in the Tampa area because there were several outdoor and barn venues near by. The Lange Farm was our last appointment of the day before heading back to Orlando. When we pulled onto the property we both just looked at each other and smiled because we knew it was the perfect place!
What was your biggest planning challenge? This one is a no brainer! Finding a florist on Mother’s Day weekend! Vendors wouldn’t even talk to us once we told them our date. We were turned down by 12 florist in Tampa and surrounding areas. Then we met with two different vendors, a day later one turned us down. On the brighter side – our flowers were absolutely amazing and she pulled off exactly what we were looking for!
What was your favorite design element of your wedding? We love the wooden box centerpieces which the groom handmade! It was one of the first things we decided to make and then we designed our other wooden signs and decorations to go along with the theme.
Did you have any DIY details? We had so many! From the chalkboard wedding program, to the escort cards, several signs, boutonnieres, and we even made our own invitations!
What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?
Heather – Sitting in the limo, getting to see his face and everyone before I walked down the aisle. I remember sitting there taking it all in; I was so nervous. But seeing him calmed me down and made me really excited.
Jonathan – Seeing her walk down the aisle, she looked absolutely breathtaking.
Describe your cake: We wanted a simple messy look with some flowers on the tiers. We added the deer cake topper to go along with the shot gun shell boutonnieres. The flavors were carrot cake and marble cake with raspberry filling! It was so delicious!
How was your experience with your photographer? We had an amazing experience, they are so much fun to work with and definitely made us feel at ease. It was the one thing we didn’t stress about because we knew we were in good hands! They even helped keep us calm with the pre ceremony jitters and mishaps.
What’s next for you and your husband as a couple? A lot of traveling and relaxing!

Interview with two of our favorites, Vivian + Scott:

HOW DID YOU MEET?
• A mutual friend introduced at a party about 12 years ago. We have been inseparable ever since!
WHAT ATTRACTED YOU THE MOST TO YOUR HUSBAND/WIFE?
• Vivian – Scott has the best heart. He makes me a better person. He’s pretty good looking too! ☺
• Scott – Vivian was the most beautiful girl I ever met, inside and out. She is my princess and angel. I would never be where I am today without her.
HOW DID HE PROPOSE?
• We were engaged April 10, 2012 on Bowman’s Beach, Sanibel Island, Florida. Scott suggested a spring break getaway to Florida knowing that he was going to propose. For once, Vivian had no idea what was going on! (Meanwhile, Scott had been designing the ring and planning the proposal for a year.) The first morning after our arrival, Scott suggested a walk on Bowman’s Beach, our favorite spot on Sanibel Island. There he asked Vivian to marry him, and Vivian said, “Of course, I’ll marry you baby!” Several months after our engagement, we decided to come back to Sanibel Island to get married!
WHAT INSPIRED YOUR VISION FOR YOUR WEDDING?
• Our initial wedding inspiration was the wedding in Meet Joe Black. We loved it – it was cool, classy, and outside on the water. We wanted to replicate that look and feel for our wedding on a beach and also add a vintage flare.
TELL US ABOUT FINDING YOUR VENUE:
• We had done some extensive online research after we decided to get married on Sanibel or Captiva Island. We decided to stop by Casa Ybel while we were on a Labor Day vacation. We were immediately sold – it’s a truly an amazing place to get married.
WHAT WAS YOUR BIGGEST PLANNING CHALLENGE?
• The biggest planning challenge for us was planning a destination wedding! We used the internet to do research on venues and vendors and mostly communicated with everyone over email. Since all of our guests traveled to Florida from another state, it was also critical for us to make sure they arrived safely, were informed about the Fort Myers/Sanibel area, and had a GREAT time.
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE DESIGN ELEMENT OF YOUR WEDDING?
• Our favorite design element was being able to be outside for our entire ceremony and reception. The beauty of Sanibel Island is truly amazing. We also loved our flowers, tent, and vintage décor – it all came together more beautifully than we imagined!
DID YOU HAVE ANY DIY DETAILS?
• The only thing we made for our wedding were our reception Bride/Groom chair signs! This one attempt at creativity made us realize that it’s better to leave everything to the professionals! ☺
WHAT WAS THE MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT OF YOUR WEDDING DAY?
• The most memorable part of the wedding day for both of us was our ceremony. We had dreamed about it for so long and simply couldn’t believe the moment had finally arrived. The beach, our feelings, and our guests’ presence/love were simply unbelievable.
DESCRIBE YOUR CAKE:
• DELICIOUS! It was a round, 3 tier, vintage, antique, decorated by Libby’s with fresh flowers. We chose 3 different flavor combinations: coconut/pina colada, chocolate chip/cannoli, yellow/strawberries and cream.
HOW WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER?
• We simply cannot imagine our wedding captured by anyone else but Sara and Jason. Not only are they so unbelievably talented and creative, but they are truly amazing people! We love Sara and Jason – we are so happy that you were there for the best day in our life!!
WHAT’S NEXT FOR YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND AS A COUPLE?
• For the first time in 12 years of being together, we don’t have a major event or project planned. We are thrilled to simply RELAX (and do some traveling!).
