Lindsay + Brandon / Gorgeous Hand-made Cocoa Beach Wedding

Interview with the beautiful bride, Lindsay:
HOW DID YOU MEET? We met through a mutual friend at our gym in Cocoa Beach. At the time, we both trained Jiu-Jitsu, and one afternoon I mustered up enough courage to ask him to attend a class with me…He agreed…and after that evening, we were attached at the hip (mainly because of my mad Jiu-Jitsu skills) 🙂
WHAT ATTRACTED YOU THE MOST TO YOUR HUSBAND? Brandon has the most incredible energy–it is hard not to notice him in a room. He is outgoing, charming, friendly and his smile is electric.
HOW DID HE PROPOSE? I always wanted to visit New York City during the holidays because I heard it was just magical, so we planned a trip right before Christmas in 2011. He took me to Radio City Music Hall to see The Rockettes then afterward, we headed to a restaurant called Eleven Madison Park where he asked me to be his wife. The sommelier popped a bottle of champagne, and the whole restaurant cheered! It was indeed magical.
WHAT INSPIRED YOUR VISION FOR YOUR WEDDING? We designed the wedding based on things we love and things that mean something to us. My mom always had vintage milk glass pieces growing up and my grandmother always used pink depression glass. Those vintage, yet classic pieces inspired a romantic and intimate theme that just fit us perfectly.
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE DESIGN ELEMENT OF YOUR WEDDING? Personally, the cake table was a favorite of mine. We had three cakes that sat on antique cake stands that belonged to my mother and great grandmother. For the table itself, we used an antique dresser that was mine from childhood. It all had a lot of meaning, making it very special to us.
DID YOU HAVE ANY DIY DETAILS? Ohh my…A good majority of the design detail was DIY! My mom and many other members of our family played a big role in creating the special elements of our wedding that made it so amazing. For our sweetheart backdrop we built a frame out of Birchwood and hand made small flowers out of scrapbooking paper and large flowers out of crepe paper and strung them over the frame. We made the flags behind the candy table, painted and distressed the antique windows that we used for the seating chart, handmade the jumbo-sized anemone that the flower girl carried…and the list goes on. Although it was a lot of work, it is neat that we were able to hand-pick or hand-make almost every design element of our special day!
WHAT WAS THE MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT OF YOUR WEDDING DAY? Just as everyone said, the day went by fast! There were many, many wonderful moments that day, I couldn’t possibly choose one!
PLEASE DESCRIBE YOUR CAKE: We had two cake options: Lemon Poppy Cake, Lemon Curd, Vanilla Buttercream and
Vanilla Buttermilk Cake, Vanilla Custard, Vanilla Buttercream
HOW WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER? AMAZING! For real…The most professional vendor we worked with!
WHAT’S NEXT FOR YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND AS A COUPLE? We are both excited to continue building our businesses, start fixing up our home, and hoping to start a family in the next year.
