Marjory + Keith / Beautiful Boca Grande Wedding.

Interview with the wonderful Marjory + Keith:
How did you meet? Keith and I met through mutual friends. We all met up one Saturday afternoon at a local pub for lunch and drinks. Keith and I hit it off and spent the rest of the day together. The following week we went on our first date and the rest is history!
What attracted you most to your husband/wife?
Marjory – What attracted me most to Keith was his personality. Keith is very outgoing and that was something that I really liked about him. He made me laugh and that was important to me.
Keith – She actually found me funny! Her sincere kindness, patience, grace, and overall gorgeousness didn’t hurt either.
How did he propose? Keith proposed in December 2013 while we were on a vacation in Palmetto Bluff, South Carolina. The trip was a surprise birthday present for me but little did I know, there was much more in store. One evening we were taking a walk and went out on the dock, overlooking the May River. It was really chilly and windy that evening and I was ready to head back to the Inn to warm up. When I turned back around towards Keith he was down on one knee. I could not believe what was happening but quickly said YES! We went back inside the Inn where we were greeted with a champagne toast. We spend the rest of the trip celebrating our engagement.
What inspired your vision for the wedding? We both grew up being on the water, fishing and boating. We knew we wanted a more casual feel to our special day but still having those romantic elements. We choose the location of Boca Grande because my family has a condo there and it has always been a second home to me. Our vision was something of a nautical look, incorporating the colors navy and white while showcasing the beauty of the island and the water.
Tell us about finding your venue: The venue choice was easy! We chose The Gasparilla Inn as our venue because I spent much time on the island with my family and had grown up knowing that this was the place I wanted to get married. When Keith started spending time in Boca Grande, he immediately saw the draw to this place. The Inn is a gorgeous, historic hotel that embodies the “old Florida” resort feel. We chose the Inn’s Beach Club for our reception because it over looks the beautiful white, sandy beaches and the sun setting over the Gulf is something we wanted our guests to experience with us.
What was your biggest planning challenge? Our biggest challenge was creating the guest list. With so many family members and friends that are dear to us, it was hard to keep our wedding list somewhat small.
What was your favorite design element? Our favorite elements were the navy and white nautical accents as well as the personalization elements that made our wedding special and unique to us.
What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day? One of our most memorable moments was while Keith and I were lighting our unity candle. Just seeing all the family and friends we love that came from near and far to share this day with us was very special. Another memorable moment for us was when Keith and I drove together in our golf cart from the church to the reception at the Beach Club. It gave us a few minutes alone together after just being pronounced husband and wife before the party!
Describe your cake: Our cake was a three tier cake made of a carrot cake layer, white cake layer with strawberries and white chocolate mousse, and the third layer had white cake with strawberries and vanilla bavarian cream filling. . It was decorated with swiss dots and had our monogram on the top tier.
How was your experience with your photographer? We could not have had a better experience! The top thing on my list and one of the most important things to me was to find a photographer that could take the kind of pictures I envisioned. Jason and Sara helped to make our day that much more special by capturing every part of it. Their creative minds, along with their communication helped to make everything run smoothly. We are so glad that we found them and were able to have them join our team of amazing people.
What’s next for you and your husband as a couple? We are excited to see what life has in store for us as a married couple! We recently purchased a home so we have been very busy making it ours.
